Meet the team: Michiel

We still haven’t introduced Michiel.

Michiel
Michiel has been fascinated by nature since his young age. As a continuation of his passion graduated as a biologist at Hasselt university. In 2013 he started working as a biologist at Nature Rescue Centre (NRC) Opglabbeek. Besides his passion for birds, Michiel focuses on monitoring moths. Moths might be a relativelu unknown species group in Nechisar National Park, giving great merit to Michiels presence on this expedition. At the NRC Michiel is head of Herpetology. The experience in handling and identifying, especially exotic reptiles, gives us the opportunity to focus on this species group too.

Africa Museum (Tervuren)

On Friday Eddy and Ruben went to the Africa Museum in Tervuren. Their objective was to study Ethiopian Nightjars. We practised the identification of these nightjars using the sketches Eddy had made after our visit to Tring Natural History Museum.
